AN ENCHANTING 16TH- CENTURY HOUSE IN THE HEART OF SAINT-GERMAIN!
The hôtel de l'Odéon is an harmonious blend of styles balanced between the Middle Ages and the Regency Period to create a cosy atmosphere, where one feel very much at home. You first enter into the elegant lounge where Louis-Philippe wing chairs and pedestal tables sit side by side with a church pew, Oriental carpets and even a phone cabin from Trafalgar square in London. Exposed beams, freestone, oak-panelling, high-crooked ceilings and tapestries also add charming rustic touches. In the back, a small room with splendid glass-tainted windows serves as a bar, conversation or game room. It opens into a very small flower-filled courtyard where cherubs and alabaster statues preside. Note that continental breakfast is served only in guest rooms and that the setting may be too much for certain people's taste.

ROOMS
In all of the 30 guest rooms, the beautiful original wood beams is still seen holding the building. To be in accordance with the period, all the antique furniture was very well picked, the originality applying here also to make each room unique in its decor: Sicilian-style twin beds in decorated metal frames, antique granny-style or tester beds, four poster canopy beds, brass or copper beds. Many of the rooms face the inner courtyard which provides for an absolute silence, even when he windows are open during the day. All have lovely trinkets and a white lace coverlet to make you feel at home. Amenities include air-conditioning, sound-proofed windows, direct-dial phone, cable TV, a desk or a table, and a marble bathroom (tub or shower) with hairdryer. Note however that the furniture in dark wood is rather massive and will not please everybody.
